& then THERE WAS 1..

Last update, I was discussing the difficulties currently facing a vast majority of recent graduates and Junior developers in the job market.
As a refresher, I have spent the better part of 2 years applying to open jobs. Starting from internships while I was a Junior in college to now applying to any Junior positions ( I can manage to find ) & even mid-level jobs just to gain the experience necessary to advance my career forward.
Yesterday I received an invitation to start the interview process for a Deployment Engineer!
I have spent the better part of my applications applying to this company and I have been ghosted by a couple of different sections from the company over the past year, but I am still hopeful that I can land this job. I will absolutely update as the process continues.
As I have been going through this job hunting process I have been working on my own personal projects as well just to keep practicing and keep studying. No need to get rusty while you wait on someone else!
I have been studying more advance Python topics like Serialization, Algorithms and Generators. Will be putting some more blog posts together explaining some of these concepts later.
I also starting learning more AWS and Django concepts. I plan on continuing my study of some more AWS and go for a certification. I know I can pass the cloud computing concepts portion, but I still need the exposure to more of the Amazon environment and I can't get that until I get more exposure to the business side and how it is implemented.
I have been building a personal portfolio site, starting with the documentation in planning and deciding the scope of the project and a place to keep all of my ideas, wants and plans for the project. I have the basic shell built out in raw HTML\CSS and then deployed in to an S3 bucket. Using that bucket to host the static website. I have built the graphics for my site and am generally pretty excited about finishing this project.
